Addressing Substance Use Champion Workshop Level 2 | Thunder Bay

Thank you for your interest in RNAO's Addressing Substance Use Champion Level 2 Workshop hosted by St. Joseph's Care Group on November 25, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Please register using our online form below. An email confirmation will be sent to the email address provided (please ensure you've entered the correct email address).

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Addressing Substance Use Champions Level 1 Workshop is a prerequisite for this session. If you have not attended Level 1, mandatory completion of the "Engaging Clients with Substance Use Disorders" e-Learn must be completed in order to participate in Level 2. You can access this e-Learn here. A certificate of completion will be provided at the end of the e-Learn - print and/or save a copy to present to RNAO staff the day of the Level 2 Workshop.

Workshop Objectives:

  • Develop a understanding of substance use disorders including conducting a comprehensive assessment and describing well evidence based psychosocial and pharmacological treatments
  • Examine advanced concepts such as harm reduction, social determinants of health and concurrent disorders
  • Conduct in-depth exploration of sustaining implementation of best practices through the use of the RNAO Toolkit: Implementation of Best Practice Guidelines (2nd Edition)
  • Explore concepts related to leadership, mentorship and networking to enhance the Champion role
