Name:
Olivia Sweeney

Olivia Sweeney is a nurse practitioner (NP) who completed her Bachelor of Nursing from Trent University and her Masters of Nursing and Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Degree at Queen's University. Olivia is a NP at Kingston Community Health Centres (KCHC), specializing in transgender health care. She leads the Transgender Health Program, providing comprehensive services such as hormone initiation, surgical planning, and social transition support to individuals seeking gender-affirming medical services. Olivia also provides primary care services at KCHC. Prior to this, Olivia worked at a family health team and in Northern Ontario in remote Indigenous communities.

Providing holistic care to marginalized clients is an imperative part of her NP role. She believes that policies and legislation are at the forefront of advocating for vulnerable individuals and this is why she is interested in joining the RNAO board of directors. Issues that are important to her include: climate change, policies that help improve access to marginalized clients, and ensuring our education systems support nurses to provide optimal client care.
