Best Practice Champions for a Smoke-Free Pregnancy Workshop - Haliburton

Thank you for your interest in the Best Practice Champions for a Smoke-Free Pregnancy Workshop. This full-day workshop will be hosted by RNAO, in conjunction with the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Distric Health Unit, at no cost to participants with funding provided by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

The Ontario Tobacco Research Unit (OTRU) is conducting an evaluation of the RNAO Smoking Cessation Initiative and would like to invite you to participate in this evaluation because you are a participant of the project. You are being asked to participate in 4 (four) online surveys over the course of the evaluation, including: before the Champions workshop (i.e. baseline survey), at the end of the workshop, and 3 and 6 months after the workshop. The results of the surveys will help OTRU to determine the effectiveness of the RNAO Smoking Cessation Initiative. Please indicate below, in the registration form where applicable, whether you agree to participate.

In addition, RNAO would also like you to review the eLearn module ‘Nurses and other HealthCare Professionals Helping Clients Quit Smoking’ in order to prepare yourself for the workshop.

For those who would like additional reading, the following three resources are recommended:

  1. Canadian Smoking Cessation Clinical Practice Guideline (CAN-ADAPTT). The CAN-ADAPTT guidelines are available as a PDF as well as a PowerPoint presentation.
