Application to host a 2021 virtual Fall Tour visit

In November, RNAO will celebrate its seventh-annual Fall Tour. This year’s event will take place virtually due to COVID-19. The tour allows RNAO's CEO and president to connect with members across the province and discuss our challenges and achievements this past year.

Collectively, we have much to be proud of including the release of Vision for Tomorrow, a report that examines how the NP role has evolved and the value NPs bring to the health system. Our relentless advocacy to ensure all Ontarians are #FullyVaccinated and equipped with vaccine passports, in particular health-care workers and education staff in contact with patients and students, respectively. Our Work and Wellbeing Survey Results that look into how nurses are coping during this time and the expected results of the international COVID-19 nursing workforce survey that will help us gain a better understanding of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and how it compares to other countries in the world. Our growing media exposure that enables us to shed light on important nursing issues. And, for all that we have accomplished related to our best practice guidelines program, an ever growing list of Best Practice Spotlight Organizations here at home and abroad. For details on this and more, please see our 2021 annual report.

The Fall Tour allows for nurses and the public – members and non-members of RNAO – to share their stories, as well as their thoughts on any issues related to their practice or the health system as a whole. In addition, how nurses have been managing during these difficult times.

This year’s tour takes place Nov. 15-19 and features President Morgan Hoffarth and CEO Dr. Doris Grinspun. Each will virtually visit a different community or region.

To maximize participation, you can collaborate with one or more chapters in your area to host a virtual visit. We also encourage members of interest groups to tag along with those chapters and regions that apply. You may consider hosting a meet and greet, site visit or a combination of these activities. Lastly, feel free to invite health-care organizations to participate in these meetings.

To apply, please fill out this online application by Sept. 15.

All requests will be considered on a first come, first served basis. Priority will also be given to those who did not host a visit last year.

We recommend gathering a team of at least five members, who will form your planning committee for the event.

We look forward to hearing from you!
