Application to host a 2020 virtual Fall Tour visit

In November, RNAO will celebrate its sixth-annual Fall Tour. This year’s event will take place virtually due to COVID-19.  The Fall Tour allows RNAO's leaders to connect with members across the province and power them in their local communities to be change agents. Collectively, we have much to be proud of including the release of Enhancing Community Care for Ontarians (ECCO 3.0), a ground-breaking report that highlights the need for a strong health system, substantively expands community care and is anchored in primary care. Our relentless advocacy to ensure nurses have what they need to fight COVID-19 on behalf of Ontarians, especially, residents in long-term care has been acknowledged by the nursing community and others outside of the community second to none. Our exposure to the media is growing and is exciting as it enables us to speak to the public. You can read about our advocacy in the latest issue of RNJ as well as coverage of our Annual General Meeting and Nursing Week. And, for all that we have accomplished in the past year, including our achievements related to our celebrated best practice guidelines and Best Practice Spotlight Organizations, please check out our interactive annual report

The Fall Tour allows for nurses and the public – members and non-members of RNAO – to share their stories, as well as their thoughts and challenges on any issues related to their practice or the health system as a whole.

This year’s tour takes place Nov. 10-18 and features President Morgan Hoffarth and CEO Dr. Doris Grinspun. Each RNAO leader will virtually visit a different community or region.

To maximize participation, you can collaborate with one or more chapters in your area to host a virtual visit. We also encourage members of interest groups to tag along with those chapters and regions that apply. You may consider hosting a meet and greet, site visit or a combination of these activities. Lastly, feel free to invite health-care organizations to participate in these meetings.

To apply, please fill out this online application by Sept. 11.

All requests will be considered on a first come, first served basis. Priority will also be given to those who did not host a visit last year.

We recommend gathering a team of at least five members, who will form your planning committee for the event.

We look forward to another exciting round of fruitful discussions!
