Jennifer Yoon is a nursing leader with significant contributions to the healthcare sector in nursing, research and policy. Before nursing, Jennifer was part of research teams between the University of Toronto and Brigham & Women's Hospital conducting genetic sequencing for the Human Genome Project. Jennifer's journey in nursing began when she completed her Baccalaureate in Nursing from Toronto Metropolitan University. She then continued her education by obtaining her Masters in Sciences (Quality Improvement and Patient Safety) from the University of Toronto. Jennifer was then employed as a Senior Policy Analyst within the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

Jennifer's leadership skills and expertise in policy led her to become the Director of Professional Scholarly Practice at London Health Sciences Centre. Jennifer is currently the Deputy Chief Nursing Executive, Vice President of Quality, Patient Safety & Risk at Humber River Health in Toronto, Ontario. Her passion for improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice and innovation inspired her to pursue her PhD in Nursing from Queen's University. Her research is focused on strategic nursing workforce planning, high reliability organizations, and optimal patient outcomes. Jennifer is an adjunct lecturer at the University of Toronto Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing.

Jennifer is currently the RNAO Region 6 chair. Jennifer’s preferred leadership style is values-based leadership, and personally believes in civic professionalism. Through civic professionalism, we must advocate to the best of our abilities in preserving universal healthcare by sharing our nursing knowledge and empowering others so that good public policy may prevail.
