I obtained my HBScN from Lakehead University in 1993 and have been a rural ER nurse for the past 24 yrs. I am currently working towards the completion of my Occupational Nursing Certificate, with the last 2 courses underway. I have been an RNAO member on and off over the years with the last several years seeing me actively involved with my Chapter Executive, acting as the Policy and Political Action ENO. I have had the privilege of participating in QPark on the Road, meeting with my local MPPs, organizing "Take your Politician to Work day" all while discussing the very serious issues of RN replacement and enhancing NP scope of practice, to name a few. I have had the privilege of attending the last 3 QPDAY and the AGMs and have found the events and meetings to be fulfilling and invigorating; adding energy to my desire to continue to promote the importance of maintaining RNs in critical care areas; learning more of how to best utilize BPGs in our organizations in order to improve the healthcare of all those in our communities.
