Denise Wood

I have been privileged to be a part of the health-care profession as a registered nurse for almost 45 years, working in a variety of health-care settings, including acute care, critical care, long-term care and in community nursing. For the past 25 years, I have worked in management both as director of care and administrator in long-Term care, and as director of home-care services. Most recently, I held the position of executive director of the Leeds and Grenville Chapter of the Alzheimer Society.

I have served two years as Region 9 representative for RNAO, and enjoy this role immensely. It is very rewarding to discuss issues nurses face daily that impact patient care. As registered nurses, we face daily challenges, including balancing family life, workload and the ongoing requirement to maintain competency.

If elected as your representative for Region 9 for a second term, I will do my very best to represent the nurses of this region and make your voices heard on issues that concern each of you.
