Name:
Cheryl Yost

RN, BScN, MEd

Colleagues describe Cheryl Yost as professional, enthusiastic, dedicated, hard working, highly motivated and adventuresome.  Personal attributes of clinical knowledge and leadership qualities complement the challenges facing individuals and health teams in 2014 and beyond.  Cheryl has worked in acute care, coronary care and emergency care (provincial hospital sites); primary care (family health team); and is now currently fulfilling a life dream as Community Health Nurse and Nurse In Charge in a remote northern Health Canada nursing position.

Board positions have included local, regional and provincial Board of Directors, including two terms as Region 2 Representative on the RNAO Board of Directors. Also, Region 2 Chapter President with Perth County.  Awards have included many, including the provincial HUB Fellowship Leadership Award.

Cheryl graduated from the Perth Huron Regional School of Nursing, completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with the University of Western Ontario and Masters in Education with the University of Toronto.  Lifelong learning is Cheryl’s mantra. Empowering individuals and communities to support optimum health and the need to promote and establish appropriate system resources, partnerships, collaboration and research continue to propel Cheryl to advocate for improvement in Team processes, and ‘our’ system.  A further belief includes the necessity of treating all Team members, including the patient and family, as our most important assets if we are to compete efficiently and effectively in the system today.  Improvements must continue to occur to enhance the health-care experience for the patient as well as the provider.
