Julie Rubel

As an RNAO member for more than 20 years, I believe strongly in the power of nurses to lead change and to speak out for nursing and for health. This belief led me to RNAO interest group leadership roles with the Gerontological Nursing Association Ontario (GNAO) as well as to the interest group chair position with the RNAO Board of Directors (2019-2023). The perspective these roles allowed me only strengthened my resolve to continue to serve our profession, thus I am seeking to serve on the provincial nominations committee.

Having completed my master’s in nursing in 2019, I now work as a clinical nurse specialist in geriatrics. Working in this advanced practice role further encourages me to find opportunities to strengthen our profession and our healthcare system. This is why I wish to serve on the committee which facilitates the creation of a strong and inclusive RNAO Board of Directors, which in turn speaks as the voice of RNAO members.
