RN, MEd, PhD

My passion is bringing support and healing to the vulnerable and marginalized, aiming to promote health, prevent illnesses, and ultimately achieve optimal health outcomes. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have and will continue to contribute my expertise in the unprecedented public health efforts in a large urban centre. In this highly dynamic, political, and ambiguous environment, I anchor my leadership in my core value of equity, social justice and integrity. My role in public health combined with my concurrent role as a representative on RNAO’s board of directors strengthens my positive impact on the people I serve.

With more than 31 years of nursing experience, I have worked as a front-line nurse, university faculty member and health administrator. I have participated in a nursing practice council and worked with the board of directors at the Ontario Public Health Association. I have been a long-standing member of RNAO and have served as an executive member of Region 7. I have contributed to the ENDs of RNAO through active engagements with politicians, the public and members.

As a mother and nurse, I have devoted much of my professional and volunteer time advocating for children's health. As a senior leader, I am known for championing effective public health operations, policy development and implementation science, and fostering healthy organizational behaviours.

My leadership is supported by my education which includes a PhD from the University of Toronto with a thesis on the politics of children's environmental health.
