The Long- Term Care Best Practices program is offering an exciting four-part webinar series on the use of Medical Cannabis in Ontario Long-Term Care (LTC) homes for a target audience of DOCs, NPs, RNs, RPNs, PSWs. Join us to learn more about how to prescribe and monitor older adults using medical cannabis. Each session will feature guest speakers from LTC, pharmacy and licensed producers of medical cannabis.
The webinar series is intended for long-term care leaders facilitating practice change and direct care staff who will benefit from reviewing the process, legislation, standards of practice, policies and procedures for assessment, administration, monitoring, dosage and storage.
Session Objectives
During this course, participants will learn:
- The basics of medical cannabis
- Legislation and standards of practice
- Roles and responsibilities of LTC staff with a focus for nurses
- Policies and procedures for assessment, administration, dosage and storage
- Access to self-guided learning modules with an overview of Medical Cannabis
