Am I Practicing Nursing? webinar - Postponed

If you are semi-retired, are thinking of retiring, or have taken an extended leave from nursing, this webinar may be very helpful for you.  The College of Nurses of Ontario Practice Consultants will share their expertise through a presentation, followed by a question and answer session.

Learning Objectives:

  • The reflective questions which support decision making when answering the question "Am I Practicing Nursing"
  • Understanding the requirements of the Non-Practicing Class at CNO.
  • Exploring the title-use and declaration of practice when working or volunteering in a position where you are not required to be a nurse
  • Understanding the requirements to return to practice after three or more years of not practicing nursing

Speakers:
Angela McNabb, RN, BScN, MN, FRE 
Angela began her career at the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in 2006. She spent the first ten years as an Outreach Consultant on the Practice Team with a specific focus on the mental health, corrections, complex continuing care and rehab sectors. In 2016, Angela moved into her current role of Strategy Consultant on the Strategy and Innovation Team. 

Prior to joining CNO, Angela worked for ten years as an RN in both clinical practice and leadership roles in mental health and forensic mental health settings. Angela has also served as a Faculty Advisor with the Ryerson/George Brown/Centennial collaborative BScN program since 2003. 

In 2019, Angela completed a fellowship with the Institute of Regulatory Excellence sponsored by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Angela is working toward being certified in project management having recently completed the certificate program at the University of Toronto. 

Dina Vaidyaraj, RN, BScN, MN
Dina Vaidyaraj (Phonetic pronunciation: “DEE-NA VAY-DUH-RAAJ”) is an Advanced Practice Consultant at the College of Nurses of Ontario where she works as a member of the Practice Quality team, supporting the development, promotion, and application of practice standards and resources. Her extensive nursing experience spans across various health care sectors including trauma and critical care, home and community care, and telemedicine. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Ryerson University and a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Toronto.
