Attention all Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) Hamilton Chapter members- please save the date for this incredibly exciting dinner event, sponsored by Thrive Group Centre of Excellence in Healthcare Innovation, in your calendars. We are so excited to have the one of a kind Alvin Pilobello joining us on January 30 to lead the session.

Session Description: It is no secret that burnout is a real and ongoing challenge for nurses by virtue of the workload and the important, societally-impactful work that they do to care for the users of our healthcare system. This workshop event aims to help RNAO Hamilton Chapter members to re-connect to what gives them joy and energy, and identify some key practical strategies that are personalized to them to make perhaps a small but effective shift in doing more of what brings them joy and energy.

Recharge is more than just about rest and time off; it also requires getting to do things that are fulfilling and rewarding. Reinventing does not have to look big and groundbreaking; sometimes a small shift can make all the difference.

By the end of this workshop, the RNAO Hamilton Chapter attendees will head home with a little bit more joy, have a greater awareness of their own joy-making options, and connect with others in a meaningful and practical way. Recharge and Reinvention doesn't have to be done alone -- it can be done together."

Speaker Description: Alvin Pilobello is a proud Hamiltonian, and Leadership Development Facilitator working with STEM professionals all over Canada and the US. He graduated from McMaster University with a degree in Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering, working in the drinking water and wastewater industry for 10 years, before starting his own business in Leadership Development. As an immigrant to Hamilton, Alvin also occasionally teaches salsa dancing through SalsaSoul Productions, since 2012, and feels indebted to the healthcare community due to his own parents' healthcare journey.

Alvin's work in the last 5 years has focused on individual and team development, helping them have the hard and necessary conversations, to balance empathy and accountability, and to create more compassionate dialogue between team members at work. He completed his training with the Co-Active Training Institute in Toronto, New York, Chicago, Singapore and Spain in 2017/2018."

We hope to see you there.
