Addressing and tackling anti-Black racism and discrimination within the nursing profession

Registration is closed for this event

The Health System Transformation webinar series is a free monthly webinar session, open to all nurses and other health professionals. In February 2022, the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) released the Black Nurses Task Force report based on extensive research including a survey of 205 Black nurses. This groundbreaking report put forth 19 specific recommendations and corresponding actions aimed to dismantle anti-Black racism at every level within nursing workplaces and academic settings.

As we surpass the one-year mark since the release of this report, the time has come to revisit these recommendations and collectively assess the progress achieved thus far.

We invite you to join us on Monday, June 12, from 2 – 4 p.m. ET, to gain insights into this work. Our session will primarily focus on advancements made in four areas: education and awareness building, conducting impactful research, advocating at all levels, and fostering partnerships with allies and stakeholders.

This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with members of the Black Nurses Task Force, pose thought-provoking questions and explore how you can actively contribute to this cause. Nursing students, professionals from all sectors and roles, as well as interprofessional colleagues, are cordially invited to join this event at no cost.

Together, let us forge a path toward a nursing profession that upholds equity, justice and inclusivity.

Health providers from Ontario, Canada, and anywhere in the world are welcome to join at no cost.
