A panel discussion about creating trans and queer safe spaces in healthcare

A panel event that is co-hosted with RNAO Lambton and Diversity Ed in Sarnia. [https://diversityed.ca/] We will be discussing how we can work together to create safer spaces for the 2SLGBTQ+ population in healthcare. Laura is an RN working in acute medicine and identifies as queer. She is continuing her education this fall as a graduate student with aspirations of creating change in nursing education.

Sharon is a queer nurse with experience in mental health and emergency medicine. She created and implemented a reference guide for queer health in two hospitals, in hopes to help make the healthcare system more inclusive.

Dillon is a Practical Nursing Student at Lambton College by day, and a Southwestern Ontario Drag performer by night! With the goal to eventually work in pediatrics, he also wants to find a way to improve overall patient care and bring some cheer with his creative expressions!

Crystal is an Indigiqueer/ Non-Binary Person and has been in leadership roles within multiple gender and sexual diverse organizations across Ontario. Crystal has a history of both community and political based advocacy for over 15+ years. Crystal has worked as an educator and frontline worker within diverse sectors.

Panel will be moderated by Rachel Elliott, Past President of Lambton RNAO Chapter.
