I am pleased to be considered as a candidate for the member-at-large, nursing education.

I have had the fortune to work as a registered nurse in different roles and in varied health-care settings. For the last 13 years, I have experienced memorable moments in patient care, nursing education and administration. Working in different roles such as front-line RN, educator, nursing advisor, instructor and clinician, has allowed me to perform as a well-rounded professional. It has taught me the values of developing a shared vision, collaboration and teamwork, strong appreciation for diversity, integrity and leading change. As RNAO Halton chapter president, I have been able to demonstrate transformational leadership attributes, and have learned to analyze problems, develop and simplify procedures, and find innovative solutions.

I am a lifelong learner, and my academic and professional pursuits are a clear testimony of my focused and goal-oriented approach towards contributing to the development of health care in the institutions which I have been privileged to be associated with. My passion is to lead and support the integration of quality health care and as a member-at-large, nursing education, I hope to collaborate with academics and clinicians to minimize the gaps between nursing education and practice. I am excited about the role that this committee plays in supporting and driving the future of nursing. I would feel humbled and honored to be part of this dynamic team, as it would allow me to experience greater professional challenge and better utilization of my experience and skills.
