Meredith Whitehead is the Senior Project Manager for Professional Practice at Mackenzie Health. She is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of projects that promote evidence-based practice, innovation, professionals working at their full scope of practice, advance inter-professional collaboration and patient experience. She is currently leading two corporate wide initiatives: Patient Care Redesign and Patient Experience. Meredith’s previous roles include Professional Practice Leader, Nursing and Clinical Nurse Educator in the Emergency Departments at Brampton Civic Hospital and Mackenzie Health. As part of her desire to expand her personal and professional knowledge, Meredith graduated her Master of Science in Nursing in 2010 from York University.

Meredith’s involvement with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) started as a student where she was an Executive Board Member of the Nursing Students of Ontario from 2005-2006 and has maintained her membership in RNAO since then. As an educator at Mackenzie Health, she started her journey with implementing the RNAO Best Practice guidelines and is currently the corporate lead for Client Centred Care, Establishing Therapeutic Relationships and Collaborative Practice Among Nursing Teams. In 2011, Meredith completed the RNAO Advanced Clinical Placement Fellowship (ACPF) in the Leadership stream and has been a reviewer of ACPF applications for the last two rotations. In 2012, she presented Communities of Practice at the RNAO International Conference in Jerusalem and has presented multiple with McKenzie Health at the BPSO Knowledge Exchange Symposiums. Meredith is also a current member of the RNAO Bylaws committee.
