Doris Jenkins

I have a career as a registered nurse that has spanned more than 30 years. I have worked in a variety of sectors ranging from acute and community care to retirement and long-term care settings. I hold a certificate in Continuing Care Nursing from St. Francis Xavier University, as well as a certificate in Adult Education from Acadia University. In continual pursuit of career development, I completed the University of Ottawa Telfer School of Management Health Care Leadership Program and the IDEAS (Improving & Driving Excellence Across Sectors) quality improvement program, a collaboration of government, professional bodies and long-term care leaders.

I am a passionate advocate for nurses, professional practice, and the implementation of best practices. I created and lead the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) LTC Director of Nursing Group. I am an active member of the Long Stay Expert Panel of Champlain LHIN, Champlain Dementia Network, and RNAO’s Region 10. I am also a proud Maritimer, wife and mother.
