Piroska Bata

Piroska is a nursing professional with 29 years of experience in burn-trauma/critical care nursing, teaching, and business management. She studied at McMaster University, did professional coaching at Adler, and completed an international executive MBA at the University of Toronto. Piroska has also co-chaired fundraising for the Brain Injury Association of Canada. For two years, she has been VP of membership for Elevate. Piroska is currently studying for her master’s degree in the Arts in Counselling Psychology at the Yorkville University. She is a licensed practitioner and master practitioner in NLP and an NSP hypnotist. She is also a licensed trainer of NLP.

Piroska is a Reiki Master/Teacher and TT practitioner. She currently holds a faculty position at Seneca College in the School of Nursing, and is the program co-ordinator for the Coronary Care Nursing Program.

As an RNAO member, Piroska is currently the board representative for Region 6. She has only finished half a term, and now wishes to finish a full term. She is the liaison for RNAO’s Independent Practice Nursing and Complementary Therapies interest groups. She has been a consultation representative at the AGM for five years, and has participated in Queen’s Park on the Road and the Queen’s Park Day initiatives. She has been a workplace liaison for two years and communications ENO for four years. Piroska is an active member of Region 6, planning events, coaching at a board retreat, organizing panel discussions about workplace violence, compassion fatigue, and networking with RNs. She is a strong advocate for RNs’ full scope of practice, is a voice of advocacy, and speaks out for health. She is dedicated to excellence in patient-centred care, evidence-based practice, best practice guidelines, and works collaboratively with integrity, humanity, respect and dignity.
