Julia Roitenberg is the Director of Child and Family Health and Chief Nursing Officer for York Region's public health department. She has over 20 years of nursing experience spanning acute care and community and public health sectors. Julia completed her master’s degree in nursing with a focus on community health from University of Toronto and a master’s certificate in municipal management from Schulich School of Business, York University. She is currently enrolled in the advanced health leadership program at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.

Julia is on the board of directors with the Ontario Public Health Association. She is also an active member of the Ontario Association of Public Health Nursing Leaders. In addition, she recently joined two RNAO Interest Groups: Community Health Nurses Initiative group and the Nursing Leadership Network of Ontario.

Julia is a collaborative leader who values people engagement, person-centered care and health equity. Her key strength is creating and facilitating a vision for a preferred future for an organization. Julia believes in the principles of accountability and excellence. Her areas of passion include: policy engagement, strategic planning, quality nursing practice, coaching and solution-focused communications.
