…so Ontarians can get the care they need. YOU CAN HELP!

Please print, sign and circulate the
attached petition that calls on the government and employers to implement evidence-based recommendations to retain and recruit nurses in Ontario. Sign this petition and distribute it among your colleagues, family, friends, neighbours and any resident of Ontario. We need as many signatures as we can get to have the petition tabled in the legislature by NDP MPP for Waterloo Catherine Fife.

This petition needs your support for 3 important reasons:

  1. Fair and equitable compensation has long been recognized as critical to nursing retention and recruitment
  2. More work is needed to improve nursing salaries and ensure wage parity for nurses, across all health sectors – from public health, to primary care, to hospitals, home care and long-term care.
  3. We can retain and recruit nurses by ensuring safe workloads with adequate staffing; addressing equity, diversity and inclusivity; expanding scope of practice; and enhancing career advancement opportunities.

Return signed copies by mail to Ann-Marie Morris, nursing and health policy coordinator, by Sept. 15, 2023. RNAO’s mailing address is listed on the front of the petition and below. Please note, hard copies are necessary because the Ontario legislature does not accept electronic petitions.

Attn: Ann-Marie Morris

If you have any questions, please email amorris@RNAO.ca.

Thank you for your support and for taking political action as we continue to speak out for nurses and speak out for health. Through this petition, your voice will be heard again at Queen’s Park. Every signature counts.
